After this step, the dentist will make sure to remove any decay. Once the crown cutting is complete then the dental expert will place a piece of cord in the gum pocket that looks like thick floss. The cord softly pushes the gum tissue away from the tooth, to get a good impression. Subsequently taking an impression, the dental team will send it to a dental lab for the fabrication of a crown/dental bridge.

Lastly, the dentist will remove the cord and place the temporary crown. You will have to wait for a few weeks to get your permanent crown or bridge.
