What to bring to a first visit
None of these items should stop you from booking. Bring what you have, and the clinic will help with the rest.
Your contact information
Your insurance details, if you plan to use dental benefits
A list of medications or relevant medical information, if the clinic has asked for it
Previous dental records or X-rays, if you have them and they are relevant
What happens at a first visit
Your reason and history
We start with why you booked, your dental history, and any concerns you want addressed.
Examination
The dentist examines your teeth and gums. X-rays are taken only when they are needed for the examination.
Cleaning, when arranged
A cleaning by a dental hygienist may be discussed or arranged based on the visit. Not every first visit includes both a cleaning and an exam.
Recommendations
Findings are explained in plain language, and any recommended treatment is discussed before it is planned.
Cleanings and preventive care
Dental cleanings at 6ix Eglinton Dental are performed by a dental hygienist, with the dentist completing the examination part of the visit. Comfort and sensitivity are discussed before the cleaning begins.
How often you should come in depends on your oral health rather than a fixed six-month rule. After your examination, the clinic recommends an interval based on what was actually found.
Insurance and direct billing
We offer direct billing for eligible covered services. Coverage, eligibility, deductibles, co-payments, exclusions, and any remaining balance depend on your insurance plan, so bring your policy details if you plan to use benefits.
If you are not sure what your plan covers, the team can walk through the billing process with you at your visit. No list of accepted insurers is published because plans vary; contact the clinic with your policy information.

Do you offer direct billing?
Yes. We offer direct billing. Coverage, eligibility, and any remaining balance depend on your insurance plan.
Does submitting the form confirm my appointment?
No. Submitting the Request Appointment form sends a request to the clinic. The clinic will contact you to discuss and confirm availability. Book Online is a separate external option that lets you view available times and complete a booking through RecallMax.
What if I have an urgent dental concern?
Call 416-220-0404 rather than waiting for a form response. Severe facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or serious facial trauma needs urgent medical care.
